Casa Gratitud
We are creating sustainable spaces located in a special place of the Catalan Pyrenees, where you can retreat to nourish your soul through nature, simplicity and beauty.
In these times when everything happens so fast,
we deeply believe in the need to stop, empty ourselves and contemplate.
For this reason, from the non-profit association Open Dharma*,
we are promoting the creation of sustainable spaces for personal retreats, very small group retreats, and end of life journeys.
The Spaces
The rooms or cabins for the soul located within Casa Gratitud (house of gtatitude) aim to be spaces of silence where you can experience personal processes, whether alone or in very small groups. And with or without guidance.
One of them will also meet the necessary conditions to become a “tiny hospice” or small house where a conscious death can be experienced in the event of a terminal illness or end of life, whether the death occurs naturally or is legally chosen.
The three main protagonists of the spaces for the soul are nature, simplicity and beauty.
The nobility of the materials used and the open and luminous spaces will be our allies to silence ourselves and embrace a deep and rich inner universe.
Conceived as spaces of serenity and contemplation, the visible horizon towards which all eyes will be directed will be nature, the great teacher and source of inspiration.
Simplicity and true sustainability will be the healing pillars in the midst of a world governed by unbridled capitalism.
Casa Gratitud
Casa Gratitud, located in a small town on the area called Pallars Sobirà, will have 4 rooms or cabins for the soul.
- A cabin with all the facilities specially designed for processes that require more silence and solitude.
- Two rooms with an intimate space each and with a shared kitchen and bathroom.
- A home located on the ground floor, accessible and prepared to offer maximum comfort in end-of-life and death processes.
- A diaphanous meeting space open to proposals in tune with the spirit of Casa Gratitud.

Origins
This project is a vision that was born a long time ago from the depths of my being, both from accompanying people who need to give themselves time outside of time, digest experiences, heal, live through end-of-life processes… and from my own internal calling.
Nature and simplicity with comfort
Casa Gratitud is an old hayloft located in a village that meets the necessary conditions of silence and beauty, without giving up human proximity.
Despite it’s austerity and proximity to nature, the warm, modern and sustainable design of the Casa Gratitud makes it comfortable and healthy. The collaboration with architect Josep Bunyesc, known for his efficient, environmentally friendly and minimalist approach, is key in the design, restoration and creation the spaces or cabins for the soul.
Spaces open to all and generators of synergies with the territory
This project, managed by the non-profit association Open Dharma*, was born as a service that responds to an increasingly evident need. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that the intention is not to create exclusive or vacation spaces to generate profits, but rather spaces managed in an economically sustainable way.
The enjoyment of the cabins for the soul within Casa Gratitud will have a sliding scale pricing to make them more accessible, in addition to having scholarships for people or personal situations with fewer resources.
We are also studying proposals to create synergies between the people who use the spaces and the town/territory where they are located, with the aim of generating an enriching flow for both parties.
Stays from one week to three months
Due to the nature and mission of Casa Gratitud, we believe it is worth suggesting a minimum stay of one week to avoid the weekend format, which is more typical of tourism than of an internal journey.
We also consider it appropriate to limit the maximum stay to three months, although we are open to evaluating specific situations and needs.

How can you help us make this possible?
We currently have the structure and the rehabilitation project for the old barn.
Little by little we are making great progress, but we need more financial resources to be able to carry out the works!
Therefore, I propose that you be an active part of this vision through two possibilities:
By paying for your stay in advance, that is, by making a reservation now to enjoy one of the rooms once they are built.
Or by making a donation of the symbolic value of the beams if what moves you is especially the creation of the space dedicated to end-of-life processes.

- You can also make a donation of any amount if you simply wish to receive the pleasure of actively collaborate with the project!
Once you have made the payment, you will receive a numbered voucher and later when we open the booking calendar you will be able to choose the dates of your stay yourself.

Make a donation to contribute
to the construction of the “Tiny Hospice”
inside the Casa Gratitud.
Give the symbolic value of one (or 1/2 or 1/4) of the 25 beams necessary for the rehabilitation of the specific space dedicated to end-of-life processes.
- Donate the value of one beam: €2000
- Donate the value of half a beam: €1000
- Donate the value of a quarter of a beam: €500
- Donate the value of an eighth of a beam: €250
